Villa Ramp

Shiraz, Iran
2021

Villa Ramp, situated in the Gode Gowim area north of Shiraz, exemplifies a seamless integration of architecture and landscape. Once agricultural land, the site has transformed into a garden-city district, inspiring a design that eliminates boundaries between the built environment and nature. The villa is embedded into the terrain, with two ramps—one ascending to the private quarters and the other descending to public spaces—creating a fluid transition between structure and surroundings. The upper level houses bedrooms and a living area with adjustable wooden screens for controlled light and views, while the lower level, designed for gatherings, features retractable partitions to adapt to various occasions. Local stone clads the sunken portions, blending with the environment, while a suspended white concrete plane defines the villa’s form, appearing as an extension of the landscape.
